FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What can I expect during my first session?
The first session with your therapist is intended to be a comfortable and welcoming space to share what brings you in, explore your goals, and ask any questions you may have. It’s also a chance to begin building a strong foundation of trust and connection with your therapist. You don’t need to come prepared with answers — just a willingness to begin.
Many of our clients are experiencing therapy for the first time. We aim to make the process feel approachable, supportive, and respectful of where you are. You don’t have to “have it all figured out” — showing up as yourself is enough.
How often will I need to attend sessions?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and maintain consistency. Over time, your therapist may recommend adjusting the frequency based on your progress, needs, and treatment plan.
There is no one-size-fits-all treatment pla. Some clients engage in short-term therapy (6–12 sessions) to address a specific challenge, while others benefit from longer-term support for deeper healing and growth. Your therapist will collaborate with you to assess progress and determine what feels right for you.
Can I choose my therapist?
ABSOLUTELY!. We deeply value therapeutic fit, especially when doing the meaningful and often vulnerable work of therapy. During your intake process, we’ll gather information to match you with a clinician who aligns with your preferences, background, and goals. If you feel that the fit isn’t quite right, we’re happy to support you in finding another clinician on our team.
How long is each session?
Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Extended sessions for EMDR, family therapy, or more complex concerns may be offered at 75 or 90 minutes, based on clinical need and agreement with your therapist.
What types of therapy do you offer?
We offer individual, couples, and family therapy, including services for children (ages 4+), adolescents, and adults. Our clinicians are trained in a range of modalities, including: Humanistic / Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Behavioral interventions and parenting consultations
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth services across Georgia. This flexibility makes therapy more accessible, especially for clients balancing work, school, parenting, or health concerns.
Do you accept insurance?
We are out-of-network providers, meaning we do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients are eligible for partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. We’re happy to provide a superbill (detailed invoice) that you can submit to your insurance provider. Contact your insurance company for more details on your mental health coverage.
Are therapists available in the evenings or on weekends?
Yes, several of our clinicians offer evening and limited weekend availability to better accommodate working professionals, students, and parents. Let us know what your scheduling needs are during your intake, and we will do our best to match you accordingly.
Do you have a cancellation policy or late fee?
Yes. We ask for 24-hour notice for cancellations. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a late cancellation fee, which will be discussed with you during your onboarding. We understand that life happens and do our best to work with you when emergencies arise.
